The Gualala River Watershed Council frequently hosts educational forums, watershed field trips, and stream monitoring trainings.

Events include an annual Watershed Celebration.  This year’s  (June 2004) Celebration was held at the Annapolis Winery.  The theme was “Defining Conservation for the Gualala River Watershed.”  Invited speakers for the day included experts in the field of land conservation, conservation easements,  and a Keynote address by Supervisor Mike Reilly on the status of open space within Sonoma County.

GRWC conducts workshops, field trips and trainings on a regular basis.  These events are designed to address issues specific to the Gualala River.  Past events have explored such topics as watershed functions (Watershed 101), restoration planning, gravel mining in the Gualala, and a review of the regulations and the science governing timber harvesting in the riparian zone.
